RaShon Young Wins Florida House District 40 — Making History as First Gen Z Democrat in the Florida Legislature

ORLANDO, FL — On September 2, 2025, RaShon Young was elected State Representative for Florida House District 40, making history as the first Generation Z Democrat elected to the Florida Legislature. The voters of Pine Hills, Lockhart, and Fairview Shores spoke clearly, and RaShon Young is ready to deliver.

"This victory belongs to every family in House District 40," said Rep. Young. "From Pine Hills to Lockhart to Fairview Shores — I hear you, I see you, and I will fight for you every single day in Tallahassee. This is not the beginning of my service — it is a continuation of it."

A Historic Win

Rep. Young is the youngest member currently serving in the Florida Legislature and the first Generation Z Democrat ever elected to it. At just 26 years old, he brings a fresh, fearless voice to Tallahassee — one shaped by growing up in Central Florida, working as an engineer at NASA, and spending three years as Chief of Staff to State Representative LaVon Bracy Davis.

He is a proud graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, and a proud product of the communities he now represents.
