ORLANDO, FL – Rashon Young officially filed and submitted qualifying paperwork to become the next State Representative for Florida House District 40. A lifelong public servant, advocate, and community leader, Young spent the past three years serving as Chief of Staff to Representative LaVon Bracy Davis, helping to shape and champion transformative legislation for Central Florida and beyond.
"This campaign is not the beginning of my service—it's a continuation of it," said Rashon Young. "I've had the privilege of working at the intersection of policy and people, and I'm proud to step forward with the full support of my mentor, Representative Bracy Davis. I live in, work in, and fight for House District 40 every day. I have my finger on the pulse of the possible for our community, and I'm ready to lead with boldness and purpose."
Representative LaVon Bracy Davis offered her full endorsement: "Rashon's filing is not a surprise—it's part of the plan. This is what building a bench looks like. Rashon has been in the trenches with me from day one. He knows the district, he knows the issues, and he knows the people. I wholeheartedly and proudly endorse him to be my successor. Our community will be in excellent hands."
